Moorlands Deposit
Initial geological interpretations across the Moorlands coal deposit also held Syngas, under MEL 3585, were completed by Geos Mining, based on past drilling information for the area.

The Moorlands coal deposit is located approximately 120 km to the south east of Adelaide. Like the Clinton, Beaufort and Whitwarta coal deposits, Moorlands has been extensively drilled in the past.

The most recent drilling program was in the 1990s, undertaken by Pasminco searching for base metal mineralisation in the basement rock. All of the past coal exploration and assessment work in the Moorlands area was to establish the deposit’s potential as feed to a conventional coal fired power plant. Figure 1 shows a plan view of all past drill holes at Moorlands.

Figure 1: Moorlands (MEL 3585) Drill Holes Location

“Brown to black carbonaceous claystone” has been recorded as being intersected at Moorlands with basement recorded at (70 to 90)m, which is slightly shallower than for Clinton and Beaufort.

It is currently not considered to be economically viable for Moorlands coal to be transported to the Clinton area for feed into a plant location there. So the Company’s initial assessments of the Moorlands coal deposit have been to assess the deposits potential to sustain a standalone Coal-to-Liquid project.

A potential drilling program for Moorlands is shown in Figure 2 below. It is comprised of a
combination of past drill holes information validation holes and infill drill and drill holes in
previously undrilled areas.

The Company’s primary focus remains currently on MEL 3896 (the Clinton Project).
