Syngas' focus is on developing Australia's first commercially viable above ground Coal to Liquid project, incorporating clean coal technologies currently operating around the world.
In the short term, Syngas is also developing Biomass to Power projects.
Fully integrated flowsheet model for the Clinton Project established;
Opportunities identified for modularisation (smaller, nominal capacity initial commercial plant);
Faster, lower cost CTL project development option identified. Coal offtake agreements at established coal mines under negotiation.
2. Biomass to Energy:
Positive Pre-Feasibility Study for the Bomen 5 MW Clean Power project completed in January 2011:
Power offtaker negotiations underway
Agreement over access to potential site in place
Feed material agreements in place and being progressed
Plant engineering, as part of the Bankable Feasibility Study is underway.
Field Trials in the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, to establish the costs of Excess Residual Straw (in cereal cropping) Collection, Storage and Transportation for downstream value adding, completed during the 2010/2011 Harvest.
